Life happens, and Moreland University is committed to being transparent and fair if you ever need to withdraw from your program. This guide breaks down exactly how refunds work, what you can expect based on your timing, and what to keep in mind before making any decisions.
The Key Principle: Timing Determines Your Refund
Refunds are based on how long you've been in the program at the time you notify Moreland of your withdrawal — not the date you stop attending. The sooner you notify, the more you may be eligible to receive back.
Scenario 1: Cancelling Within 5 Calendar Days of Signing
If you change your mind quickly, you're protected.
Scenario 2: Cancelling After 5 Days But Before Your First Class
If you cancel after the 5-day window but before your first virtual class begins:

- If Moreland cancels your enrollment agreement before your first class begins → full refund issued automatically.

- You will receive a refund minus the $200 non-refundable registration fee.
Scenario 3: Withdrawing After the Program Has Started
Once your program is underway, your refund is calculated based on what percentage of the total program you've completed at the time of your withdrawal notification.
How the Refund Formula Works
Your refund % = Weeks completed ÷ Total program weeks

Once you know your percentage, find your refund band below:

Example A — Teacher Preparation Certificate Program
- Candidate withdraws after 6 weeks out of 36
- 6 ÷ 36 = 16.6% completed → falls in the 10–25% band
- Refund: 75% of tuition paid, minus $200
- Candidate withdraws after 12 weeks out of 52
- 12 ÷ 52 = 23% completed → falls in the 10–25% band
- Refund: 75% of tuition paid, minus $200
