Summary This article explains the payment process and participation requirements for mentor teachers who support clinical teaching practicum students.

Mentor teacher role and participation requirements

  • Mentor teachers partner with a clinical student to conduct four observations and participate in video reviews of the student’s teaching.
  • Observations, feedback and video reviews occur as part of the clinical teaching module while the student is teaching regular classroom activities at a single school site.
  • A Verification of Clinical Practice Completion must be and finalized by the mentor as part of the clinical placement process.

Payment amount

  • Mentor payment: $250

How the process typically proceeds (sequence of steps)

  1. Student finalizes mentor selection and collect required school information (including an MOU).
  2. Mentor conducts four observations and participates in the required feedback video reviews while the student completes clinical teaching at the assigned school.
  3. Once the mentor has completed all evaluations and docusigned the Verification of Clinical Practice Completion Form on behalf of the candidate, they can then complete the Remittance Form selecting their form of payment preference.
  4. The payment of $250 will be issued at the end of the month following the submission of the Remittance Form.
